The Rev. Dr. Karen Herrick There’s No Health Without Mental Health, Breathing and Learning Through the Vagal Nerve
Therapist, Lecturer, and Author of “You’re Not Finished Yet” and “Grandma, What’s a Soul?” Rev. Dr. Karen E. Herrick, PhD, LCSW, CADC releases investigative study of the Vagal Nerve and its impact with spiritual experiences and healing from trauma. (www.spiritualexperiences.info)
Red Bank, NJ (October 2017) In her third thought provoking book, There’s No Health Without Mental Health, Breathing and Learning Through the Vagal Nerve, Rev. Dr. Herrick identifies how trauma is repressed in the body through the “flight, flee, and frozen” amygdaloidal reaction of the vagus nerve. The frozen state of the amygdala immobilizes clients in fear and danger long after the original trauma has been experienced.
Vagus breathing makes a passage for the internal soul-mind breath used by yogis and Tibetans centuries ago. It is through this vagus nerve and the law of vibration that spiritual experiences occur.
Dr. Raymond E. Moody, Jr. psychologist, physician, author of Life after Life and known for coining the phenomenon, Near Death Experience, (NDE), shared, “. . . It has been my experience that people who have spiritual experiences often tell me that neither doctors or ministers have been able to help them understand these experiences. Karen is a new breed of therapist who is dealing with the vast range of experiences, which have enormous impact on people’s lives.”
There’s No Health Without Mental Health is Rev. Dr. Herrick’s enlightening insight to accessing the vagal nerve and proposing its unique connection to the silver cord, the door to the unseen spirit world.
Rev. Dr. Herrick hopes to bring a broader awareness of the vagal nerve to help those enduring fear, depression, anxiety, and those uncomfortable with openly discussing personal spiritual experiences. There’s No Health Without Mental Health, reveals ways to bring about peace from trauma and spiritual experiences by activating this powerful life force, the vagal nerve. Decades of clinical work and research has led to a vast bibliography of resources from Psychology and Spiritual Experiences, and Mysticism and the After Life, to her own case study entitled, “The Making of a Medium.”
A student of William James’ philosophy, Rev. Dr. Herrick stated, “William James, psychologist and physician, and the first educator to offer a psychology course once said, “The unseen world is all around us.” She adds, “Maybe it’s time to get to know this unseen world a little better, together!” Check out September 18th speaking engagement: https://youtu.be/5dDaoRUIMeo.
